Sonified Topographies explores cultures around the world through music. The 12K-LED rig scrapes the most popular songs being played in cities around the world selected from the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN). The data is fed into an algorithm written in Processing code to create 3D landscapes by mapping audio frequency to visual output. The resulting visualization reveals the unique heartbeat of each city, allowing visitors to experience these cultural topographies through a diverse array of rhythms and melodies.
